| Piotr (Pete) Skoczylas is a Managing Director and Fund Manager at Scotchstone Capital Fund Ltd as well as a Designated Member at Scotchstone Capital LLP.
Before Scotchstone Capital, Piotr was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, where he was Vice President. Before that, he was a strategy advisor and a corporate finance manager at The Boston Consulting Group and Procter & Gamble, respectively.
Piotr was also a Director on the Board of Directors of Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc, one of the largest Irish financial institutions -- then with over €70 billion in assets and 135,000 shareholders worldwide -- in which Scotchstone Capital Fund Ltd is a shareholder. Piotr was the first Director ever of a large listed Irish financial institution to be directly elected to the Board of Directors by a majority of shareholders at an EGM as a result of a successful proxy fight, before being appointed and accepted by the Central Bank of Ireland.
Piotr's experience encompasses negotiating, managing and advising on numerous equity investments and M&A transactions worth billions of dollars across various sectors, including among others financial services, general industries and renewable energy.
Piotr was also the first pro se applicant in history to lead proceedings and make written and oral submissions before the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, as well as before the European Commission and the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the European Central Bank, as part of a high-profile, multifaceted landmark case involving the Irish Minister for Finance / the Irish State regarding a €4 billion recapitalisation of Permanent TSB Group Holdings plc.
Piotr holds an MBA degree from London Business School, an LL.M. (Financial Law) degree from the Institute for Law and Finance of the Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, as well as an MSc degree in Economics, Finance and Banking from the University of Lodz, Poland. Piotr is a Member of the Malta Institute of Taxation, by which he has been awarded a Professional Award in Taxation with Merit. He is listed with the Malta Commissioner for Revenue as a Registered Tax Representative with number PRN1149. Piotr was also selected as an academic scholar at the University of Limburg in Maastricht, the Netherlands, and at WHU, Graduate School of Management, in Koblenz, Germany. Piotr serves currently on a global executive panel convened by McKinsey. Piotr was shortlisted for the Financial News' Top 100 Rising Stars, a pick of executives under the age of 40 working in the financial markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Piotr is a dual British and Polish citizen and speaks fluent German and Polish, in addition to English. |
